IBERMÁTICA BOOSTS ITS CYBERSECURITY AREA BY PURCHASING 100% OF ITS SECURITY
Combined capacities with the aim of reaching a turnover of 25 million euros in cybersecurity services by 2024
Ibermática has taken over the entire 100% of the firm ITS Security to boost its cybersecurity business. ITS Security, until now part of the Egile industrial group and specialists in automated preventive protection against all types of cyberattacks, invoiced 6 million euros last year and has four offices located throughout Spain, from where it covers the entire market. The aim of this operation is to increase the volume of revenue in this area to 25 million euros by 2024.
The digitalization of the economy has caused cyber risk to become the main concern of companies globally. In Spain too, even overtaking for the first time loss of profits as a major long-standing concern for organizations. This is confirmed by studies carried out by entities such as Gartner, PwC or Allianz, among others. Cybersecurity is therefore a booming business, and Ibermática has earmarked boosting this market as part of its strategy.
One of the actions derived from this strategy has been the purchase of ITS Security, the company set to unify its portfolio with Ibermática, maintaining its brand and its SOC (Security Operations Centre), and where Álvaro Fraile will continue as the CEO.
The new portfolio of solutions that will help strengthen the current services of Ibermática not only in IT but also in OT, will cover end-point and server, data control, information security, audits and governance, OT security and perimeter security.
Its 50 professionals will also continue working from their current offices, although the objective is to continue strengthening the workforce based on the growth that will take place. Finally, the brand will also be kept on, although under the umbrella of the corporate image of Ibermática.
ITS Security provides coverage throughout the national territory with physical offices in Madrid, Gipuzkoa, Bizkaia and Navarra, with numerous customers in sectors such as Public Administration, Health, Energy and Utilities, Transportation, Industry 4.0, Smartcities and ICT in general. Since 2016 it has held the official Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) accreditation, granted by Carnegie-Mellon University since 1988 and awarded to operations centres worldwide specialized in responding to Internet security incidents. Likewise it is also a full member of FIRST (Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams), the main international forum for Incident Response Teams, access to which is very limited, since it has only 500 members from around a hundred countries. It has been accepted as an official member of CSIRT.es, the main national cybersecurity forum, as well as the main European cybersecurity forum, TF-CSIRT - Trusted Introducer, in which the most important CERTs on the continent collaborate, innovate and share information and of which it is an accredited member.
In addition, it is part of Cybasque, the association of Basque cybersecurity companies launched last February.
As explained by the CEO of Ibermática, Juan Ignacio Sanz, “With this purchase we aspire to become a reference IT provider also in the field of cybersecurity, an area that we intend to strengthen by providing additional and complementary value to customers, as well as new expertise”. Sanz points out that the idea is "to support the cybersecurity areas of large corporations, but also focusing on the mid-market industrial market."

CID360 and Nuklea360
ITS has a set of its own solutions, among which is noteworthy the unified new generation security platform, CiD360, which allows the prevention of violations, attacks and intrusions through the use of intelligence and counter-intelligence techniques when combining Network, Cloud and End Point Security. It automatically detects and offers preventive protection against cyber attacks at all stages without compromising performance.
The CID360 platform detects, analyses and correlates indicators between files, users, networks, devices and work stations. It also allows unknown threats that have not been detected by the protection perimeters to be identified and rapidly eliminated.
The Nuklea360 platform, another ITS R+D+i solution, provides IoT Industrial Cybersecurity. The protection of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) is already a necessity of maximum relevance. That is why Nuklea360 performs inventories and analysis in industrial OT environments, and uniquely identifies changes in critical controllers and their configurations.
ITS solutions are easily integrated into existing security infrastructure, allowing organizations rapid capacity and flexibility to respond. It has the backing of UNIT71, the ITS Security threat intelligence team, composed of experts in cybersecurity and in the industrial sector. UNIT71 gathers, researches, analyses and provides information on the latest threats in real time in both IT and OT environments, significantly reducing the false positive ratio and detecting attacks in its most critical environments.
ITS Security also carries out consulting projects for the adaptation and implementation of the most recognized regulations and standards (ISO 27001, ISO 20000, PIC LAW, RGPD, ...), among other activities.
